What wonderful news that the amount was reached for Fr. Joel to go back to Kenya and begin this clinic in his home village. And I think that thanks go to the one who heard the need and answered the call to make this possible. That is you, Mary!! It is very exciting to see this take place. We enjoyed our time with Fr. Joel over a meal. He simply radiates joy. Give him our regards. Thank you, Mary, for this opportunity to be a part of such a project.

Thank you Gayle, you were one of the many who jumped right in to make this happen. Joel, you are more than welcome. This has and I am sure will continue to be a great gift for Malcolm and me.

Thank you Mary for spearheading this adventure. It was a real leap of faith. Thank you members of Grace Episcopal Church, Cullaman. I can't forget that Friday night. You are awesome people. Thanks to all who responded to the call from Macedonia, either through prayer, donation or physical presence at the events. Thank you St.Luke's Episcopal Church for coming along at the very right time. Above all praise and honor to you Our God, for making this possible! Amen.

It's in deed amazing, what God can do with little things! Have you ever imagined that out of a morsel of bread, came a never ending jar of meal for three and a half years? (I Kings 17:13-16). May the Good Lord continue to fill your jar daily as you save lives of Ngunya residents. Amen.

Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger and kinder in the long run but you might have to be weaker and more angry in the short run.
Be able to be in the role of accepting support, maybe even ask for it.
Be willing to be authentic, mess and all.
Know that God is working through it with you and through our support system.
All can be much easier to say and to know but very hard to do and feel.
We are fortunate to know that Easter morning does come and just like the women who came into the tomb that morning, it still can be overwhelming.
Love to you.

Mary,

My heart goes out to Seline, her family, especially her two children and her close friend, Joel. Tonight at our Maundy Thursday service, I felt especially aware of the lovely people in the world who suffer great hardship. Your words about Seline & Joel are especially moving for me. I, along with Caroline, would love to meet Joel when he is in Alabama. I am so happy to make a small donation for the building of the Ngunya Clinic. Blessings & love to you this Holy Week & Easter.

Yes, Caroline, Joel is coming back to AL with me the weekend of 4/27-29. Grace Episcopal Church in Cullman is having a reception for him on 4/27 5:30 pm and he is speaking at a Sunday School class at St. Luke's in Birmingham on Sunday, April 29th. I would LOVE for you to meet him and will keep you all posted of those plans. Thank you for your prayers. Blessed Holy Week to you too.

What a wonderful friend you have made in Joel. And what a tragic story in Seline. I pray that out of that will come a clinic for their village. Is Joel the friend who will be traveling with you to Bremen?
I would love to meet him.
Blessed Lent Season,

Caroline
